Time Trial Events

AROSC has a very active competition program. It consists of run six to eight track events per year, all all but two of which are Time Trials (TTs). TT events are run in conjunction with Race and Intro Group but time trialers are only on the track with other time trialers. Cars are assigned to various classes depending on their speed potential; Alfas are classed separately from non-Alfas. TT events inlcude practice runs on Saturday and again on Sunday AM. Timed runs take place on Sunday PM.

Time Trials are high speed track events run on real race tracks (Willow Springs, Buttonwillow, Laguna Seca, Spring Mountain, etc.) at race speeds. In a TT, the class winner is determined by the "best lap time". To make sure that everyone gets a fair shot at clean laps, the timed runs, cars are individually metered onto the track at approximetely 15 second intervals to minimize the channce that one car will interfere with another. Run order is also controlled for the same reason.

The TT events are run with a very strong emphasis on safety. All cars and drivers must pass a technical and safety inspection before they are allowed onto the track. Driver who do not have AROSC TT licenses are required to attend Novice Classes where they are instructed in various aspects of track driving safety as well as in the practical aspects of getting good lap times.

Additional information on TT events is posted on this website. Details on the requirements and procedures associated with our TT events are included in our Competition Code.
